About the Event
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a highly researched evidence-based program that was developed at the University of Massachusetts’ Medical Center in 1979. The program includes guided instruction in mindfulness meditation, gentle stretching, and group dialogue with mindful communication exercises to help enhance awareness in everyday life.
MBSR can benefit everyone, including those who are trying to manage stress, people with medical conditions like fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, cancer, heart disease, chronic pain, and depression, and anyone looking to enhance their wellbeing. MBSR is taught by certified MBSR instructor Tanji Wolfert. According to the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical Center, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction can help you “learn how to take better care of yourself through the interplay of mind and body - and mobilizing your own inner resources for coping, growing and healing.”
